While there are parts of your pipeline where standardized timers connected to recommended follow up actions are perfectly suited, this is not the case with every stage.

If you have a prospect that says to call them back in a month, or to check back after they finish working out finances, there will not be an automatic timer and recommended action to fit that scenario.

In cases like these you should have a stage indicating that these records have actions scheduled in the future, then use the to-do feature to set a custom timer and action.

You open the record and click on the to do button in the bottom menu.

Set the date and time the action will be due, who is assigned to it,

select the type of action, and enter any appropriate notes.

Once you save the to do you will see it anytime you open the prospects file. You will also get a visual indicator here on the pipeline record that there is a future action scheduled.

If the due date goes by and the action is not marked as complete, then the indicator will turn red and alert you that action is needed on that record.

You can filter the pipeline to see any overdue to dos to make it easier to handle them. You can also look at a calendar view of your to dos to help predict any upcoming actions that need to be taken.

To mark a to-do as having been handled, you simply click on the check mark on the right hand side of wherever the to do is displayed.
